About Ben Swindlehurst Therapy - Dedicated Psychotherapy Support

Professional Psychotherapy Grounded in Compassion

Hello, I'm Ben.

I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost, or simply aware that something in your life isn't quite where you'd like it to be. Whatever has brought you here, I offer a welcoming, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore what's going on for you. I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches to suit the individual sitting in front of me. I believe there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Instead, I work collaboratively with clients, taking time to understand their unique experiences, relationships, and challenges. My aim is to build a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, accepted, and supported. Often, having the space to speak freely with someone who is fully present can be the beginning of meaningful change.

My Experience

I hold a Level 6 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling through Inter-Psyche and Kent and Medway NHS Trust. During my training, I worked with students at the University of Greenwich, supporting people facing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I have particular experience working with grief and bereavement, and I understand how deeply loss can affect every aspect of our lives. Grief is a unique experience for each person, and I believe it deserves compassion, patience, and understanding rather than expectations about how it "should" be experienced.

A Little About Me

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than ten years working in television production and I continue to run my own small business. These experiences have given me first-hand insight into the pressures that can come with work, responsibility, uncertainty, and balancing the demands of modern life. Like many people, I have experienced life's ups and downs, periods of change, loss, and challenge. These experiences, alongside my professional training, have shaped my belief that people are often far more resilient than they realise, especially when they have the right support around them. I am naturally curious about people and their stories. I feel privileged to do this work and to walk alongside clients as they gain greater understanding of themselves, navigate difficulties, and move towards the life they want to live.

I offer therapy both online and in person for adults seeking support with issues including:

  • Grief and bereavement

Finding the right therapist is important, and I encourage you to take your time in deciding who feels right for you. If you would like to know more about how I work, I would be happy to arrange an initial conversation.
